What Happens After the Sale: Inside Bergmann's Dealer and Customer Support Network
Buying a Bergmann truck is just the beginning. What happens after the paperwork is signed and the unit rolls off the lot can have just as much impact on the customer experience.
Our dealer and customer support network starts with a strong relationship with our dealers and extends to our corporate team, which stays involved from delivery and operator questions to parts, service and warranty support. With technician training, a substantial U.S. parts inventory and direct access to our team, we help our dealers address customer needs as they arise.
The Dealer Comes First, But We Stay Connected
Once a customer takes ownership of their equipment, the local dealer remains the primary point of contact. Our dealers are equipped to handle the day-to-day service and support that comes with owning a Bergmann truck.
That doesn't mean the relationship ends there. Bergmann dealer support extends beyond the initial sale, and customers have access to our corporate team as well. Whenever possible, a Bergmann representative is present at delivery to meet the customer, walk around the truck and answer questions. When we can't attend a delivery, we make sure the dealer's team is comfortable with the machine and prepared to provide a thorough walkthrough.
From there, we stay in touch through periodic check-ins. When our team members are traveling through an area, we may also visit customers in the field to see the trucks in operation and hear directly about how things are going.
Getting Parts Where They Need to Be
When a customer needs a part, the process starts with the dealer. In many cases, the dealer already has the part in local inventory and can get the customer back up and running quickly.
If the part isn't available locally, the dealer can work with Bergmann's parts department or use our online parts portal to place an order. Here in the United States, we maintain several million dollars' worth of parts inventory so we can have components on hand when urgent needs arise.
If a required part isn't available in our U.S. inventory, we work directly with our team in Germany to get it shipped to the States as quickly as possible.
When a Truck Goes Down on the Job
Equipment downtime can quickly create challenges for customers, which is why the dealer remains the first line of response when a truck goes down.
If the dealer has the necessary part and service capabilities, its team can diagnose and address the issue directly. When a dealer doesn't have the part or needs additional technical support, Bergmann support is available to step in.
In some situations, our team may even go directly to the job site with the necessary parts and make the repair ourselves. Our goal throughout the process is to get the customer back to work as quickly as possible.
That dealer-first, manufacturer-backed approach gives customers a local resource for immediate support while keeping our team available when additional parts, expertise or hands-on assistance are needed.
Trained Technicians, Backed by Bergmann
Our dealers receive technician training when they first join the network, helping their service teams become familiar with our trucks and how to diagnose and repair them. We also offer refresher courses upon request when dealers need additional support or want to update their team's knowledge.
Of course, even experienced technicians can run into an unusual issue. When something falls outside the ordinary, our team is ready to help troubleshoot the problem and determine the next step.
Within the Bergmann dealer network, one phrase comes up often: "My phone is always on."
It's a simple reminder that our dealers have direct access to our team when they need it. Whether the question is big, small or something unexpected, they know they can reach out to us for support.
Warranty Claims Stay With the Dealer
The dealer also serves as the customer's primary point of contact when it comes to warranty claims. The dealer handles the claim and submits it to us for review, keeping the process centralized for the customer.
Once the claim reaches Bergmann, we review it and work to address it promptly. That direct communication between the dealer and our team keeps the dealer at the center of the customer relationship while giving them access to us when needed.
Response Times Depend on the Situation
There isn't a single response time for every service issue. How quickly a repair can be completed depends on the dealer, the location and the severity of the problem.
A dealer with the right part and service capabilities may be able to resolve an issue within a few hours. More involved repairs may take longer, particularly when parts or additional technical support are required.
Our role is to help close those gaps as quickly as possible. Maintaining a substantial parts inventory in the U.S. is one way we work to minimize the time customers spend waiting for components.
The Real Support Network Is Our People
Our post-sale support includes technician training, parts inventory and an online ordering system. But our biggest strength is our people.
We are a small team, and that allows us to stay accessible to our dealers and responsive when questions or problems arise. Through Bergmann customer support, dealers have direct access to the people who know our trucks, whether they need help troubleshooting an unusual issue, locating a part or determining how to approach a repair.
For us, that accessibility is an important part of what happens after the sale. The dealer remains the customer's first call, while our team stays close behind, ready to provide the parts, knowledge and hands-on support needed to keep our trucks working in the field.
